Horse Profile – Superior Knight

Superior Knight is a well bred 6 year old gelding who has been given time to mature. His sire is Superior Premium (referred to as "tough as teak"), who won an amazing 11 races over 5f and 6f, which included a Group 1 at Royal Ascot (total price money was in excess of £253,000). His stud record is just as impressive with 80% of his runners making the frame. His father, Forzando won 12 races (totaling prize money in excess of £394,000) including a Group 1 in America.

His dam American Pie, showed lots of potential when placed in hurdles races when trained by Venetia Williams. Her breeding on the dam side includes a number of hardy sorts, winning and being placed in many hunter chases including Cheltenham. It was therefore expected that she would reach her full potential when she went chasing. Unfortunately, due to injury she never got the opportunity.
